About the Farmers

  Ben – I started farming in Argyle, NY, on Paul and Sandy Arnold’s farm, Pleasant Valley Farm. Basically, from day one I was hooked. I worked the six acres of vegetables on their farm for a season before heading off to college in upstate New York, at St. Lawrence University, where I realized I wanted to farm way more than I wanted to be in school. Now, I’ve got 5 acres of vegetable to tend to, and I couldn’t be happier.

    How cool to spend the afternoon with you both on Saturday’s work day! I am learning so much about new-to-me wonderful things to eat and enjoying it all so much. Thanx to my daughter and granddaughter, Michelle and Halie, for signing us up – you’re never too old to learn new things!!! (and I love your ‘stories’ – and you both remind me of other truly wonderful people we have had the good fortune to meet and work with throughout this country and the wider world! – just another bonus!)
